The radical Taliban rule continues in Afghanistan. Issuing a new decree, the Taliban has banned people from getting shaved or trimmed in Helmand province. Referring to a letter from the Taliban, Frontier Post reported that the Taliban forbade stylish hairstyles and different types of beards for fashion.

The newspaper further reported that officials from the Ministry of Islamic Orientation had met representatives of men's hair salons in Helmand's capital Lashkar Gah. In this meeting, the Taliban advised not to style the hair and not to shave the beard.

Playing of songs inside the salon was also prohibited,

this order also said that songs or humd (hymns) will not be sung in and around the hair salon. This order is being conveyed to the people through social media. The Taliban have returned to their 20-year-old ways. The conservative policies that the Taliban implemented under Sharia law during their regime in 1996-2001 are again being imposed on the people.
